Visual Arts at ConneXions is structured as a"track" rather than individual classes. The visual arts track is a rigorous training programs with the goal of turning out highly competitive artists who will be academically, and artistically prepared to continue their growth at the college level. Classes in this track are rich with culture and history and authentic projects that incorporate research, creative problem solving and self discovery. Students have shown their work in many well known venues around Baltimore including; The Eubie Blake Center, The Creative Alliance, MICA, and the University Of Baltimore, in addition to having their work appear in HBO's The Wire and several city murals.Portfolio development is a vital part of the the visual arts track and students graduating are expected to have a competitive, college ready portfolio. In addition to a completed portfolio, students attending ConneXions are required to earn art credits in addition to general credits.

Prospective Visual Arts students should have a strong desire to become an expert in their artistic field.  Though there are no audition or entrance requirements, ConneXions is looking for talented, motivated individuals with a deep interest in visual art, and a portfolio of work that shows interest and talent is strongly encouraged.
