In that case, Friday will NOT be a normal day of school. · And school is delayed on Wednesday, the Algebra exam will be administered on WEDNESDAY BEGINNING WHEN WE COME IN. Students will still get breakfast but we will not break for lunch. Extra snacks will be available after testing. Please note that this might mean students are in school from 10-1:30, for example, rather than 8-11:30. Week of January 10-14 HSA Week. Testing students will be coming at 8am for testing. Non-testing students report at 11:30 for afternoon classes. All testing students should be in school on time on their testing day...remember HSAs are a graduation requirement! You can do it! Friday, January 14 is a regular school day and will be "Dress for Success" day at the high school. All students are invited to come in Business Attire to prepare for exhibition dress requirements. Students wear uniforms if they do not attend in Business Attire. Week of January 17-21 January 17: no school, Dr. King's birthday observed January 18-21: High School Exhibitions. Students come in during their mandatory exhibition time only. Students received extensive information on exhibitions during the High School meeting on January 5, including information to bring home. Week of January 24 School is closed for Teacher Professional Development on January 24 and 25. SECOND SEMESTER STARTS ON JANUARY 26!!! Fall is the season for rising 6th and 9th graders to choose their middle and high schools, respectively. We encourage all rising 6th and 9th graders interested in the arts to take a close look at ConneXions. We have pre-professional arts tracks in West African Percussion, Dance (Modern, African, Ballet), Visual Art, and Theater for students in grades 6-12. Students interested in ConneXions can: --visit our booth at the School Choice Fair on Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 9am-2pm at Poly --attend our Open House on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 6-7:30pm here at ConneXions (in the auditorium) --schedule a shadow day by calling us at 443-984-1418 Students who decide to apply to ConneXions for next fall should select us as their NUMBER ONE CHOICE on the application distributed by City Schools. A reminder to parents, staff and students that we WILL NOT BE FOLLOWING THE BALTIMORE CITY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SCHEDULE. PD for connexions is November 11/12 we will be closed on those days and we will be IN SESSION October 14/15 when other schools in the system are closed. The new schedules for the 2010 flag football season and the 2010 girls volleyball season have just been added to the athletics page under programs. Come on out to our games and support our teams! ConneXions Back To School Night will take place Wednesday, September 8th 6:00pm at ConneXions High School and middle. It's an opportunity to meet the teachers and staff, find out important details about the upcoming school year. Connexion's middle and high schools both still have slots open for the 2010-2011 school year in grades 6 and grades 10 through 12. This is a golden opportunity for students interested in getting a solid education with a focus on arts and activism. Students planning on attending MUST have forms signed by Connexions before registering.
